Over 40 years of experience as an applied physicist and businessman specializing in technical marketing services, began his career in the early sixties at Razdow Laboratories, a NASA think tank. In 1966 he formed his own company, Wild Rover Corp., where he fathered monolithic switch technology. This technology is widely used today in such products as microwave ovens, cash registers, and phones. From 1974 to the present he has led the technology resource group, The Windessa Group (formerly RTS Research Lab, Inc.). Alex was a co-founder of, and through The Windessa Group helped conceive and develop the first portable bar code scanner, and for 12 years acted as overall program manager for Symbol Technologies, Inc. (a NY Stock Exchange Company now owned by Motorola). He holds over 75 patents and trademarks in the fields of optical electronics, bar code technology, automatic inspection, and medical software. At Base10, a 30 year old defense Company where Alex became Co-Chair, he worked extensively with the FDA and various pharma clients – Pfizer, Smith Kline, Wyeth, Pharmcia, etc., in issues regarding software systems for controlling pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing. Base10 became the first software provider ever to achieve FDA compliance. Alex is a recipient of a Special U.S. Congressional Recognition Award as a “Successful Entrepreneur”. In 1997 he was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year by his alma mater, Muhlenberg College, and was a Trustee for 12 years, having chaired the Educational Policies and Faculty Affairs Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. He was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award.

Nick Mackres enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserve in 1996 as a Private rising to the current rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He graduated from Columbia University in 1999 as a Mechanical Engineer. He was commissioned in 1999 as a Second Lieutenant where he earned his specialty as a Supply & Fiscal Officer. He was given the responsibility for supporting 2000 personnel with global supply chain management throughout four locations in three different countries. He graduated Columbia Business School in May 2007.
Mr. Mackres acquired his financial skills while working for an aerospace & defense private equity firm (John F. Lehman & Co.). He currently supports his family business in commercial real estate and as a School Business Administrator for a National Blue Ribbon School.
Mr. Mackres is a former founding partner in a renewable energy installation company and has served in the Marine Corps Reserve as the Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer to FEMA Region II (NY, NJ, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands) for Marine Forces North, a Company Commander, Operations Officer and currently Executive Officer for MWSS-472.
